To minimize customer inconvenience, MTA Bridges and Tunnels, as a matter of policy, schedules roadway work during off-peak travel periods whenever it is safe and practical.  The following are planned closures for necessary maintenance and construction.

Throgs Neck Bridge


Bronx-bound:
One lane on the Cross Island Parkway on-ramp to the bridge is open to traffic. Trucks entering from the Clearview Expressway should use the center lane for travel over the bridge.

Queens-bound:
Normal conditions for car and truck traffic with no new restrictions on trucks.

Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge

Note:  Ramp closures are scheduled for Mon., 11/9 through Wed., 11/11: the Southbound exit ramp from the bridge to Beach Channel Drive East will be closed to traffic from 7 AM to 3 PM due to construction (weather-dependent). Detour signs will be posted.  The section of the exit ramp leading to Rockaway Freeway will not be affected.
Ramp closures are scheduled for Thurs., 11/12 and Fri., 11/13: the Southbound exit ramp from the bridge to Beach Channel Drive Eastbound / Far Rockaway will be closed to traffic from 7 AM to 3 PM due to construction (weather-dependent).  Detour signs will be posted.  The section of the exit ramp leading to Rockaway Freeway will not be affected.
Ramp closures are scheduled for Mon., 11/9 and Tues., 11/10: the Northbound entrance ramp to the bridge from Beach Channel Drive West will be closed to traffic from 9 AM to 3 PM due to construction (weather-dependent).  Detour signs will be posted.
Nighttime ramp closures are scheduled for Fri., 11/13: the Northbound entrance ramp to the bridge from Beach Channel Drive East (Beach 95th Street Entrance) and the Northbound entrance ramp from Rockaway Freeway will be closed to traffic from 9 PM to 5 AM due to construction (weather-dependent).  Detour signs will be posted.
